ABOUT US
WHO ARE WE?
KSAALT was created in 2006 and it is entering its 6th year 2011 - 2012.
We aim to provide English Language and English as a Medium teachers with monthly professional development seminars and an environment for social networking. The seminars vary in topic from workshops on methods and techniques directly applicable to classroom teaching and on academic or pedagogical teaching issues. Our monthly presenters vary from members sharing their knowledge or invited international guests notable in the TEFL / TESL field.
KSAALT became the local TESOL affiliate in December 2006 and the local IATEFL affiliate in April 2011.
In the early days of 2006 - 7, we were small enough to hold meetings in a member's living room. Since then, we have grown. In October 2010, we had about 100 members in Dammam, Dhahran and Al-Khobar in addition to Chapters in Riyadh and Jeddha. As of October 2011, we have 150 members in the Eastern Province and members in Yanbou working to open a chapter there.

We are proud to be a sister organization of such distinguished
regional TESOL affiliates as TESOL Arabia, TESOL Egypt, TESOL Qatar and the English Language Association of Turkey. Many KSAALT members are also members of TESOL and other affiliates
in the region and in their home countries.
Last year, our membership in the Eastern Province alone was about 150. In 2011, we added two chapters to the organization; Jeddha and Yanbu. As the year 2012 begins, we have over 200 including our chapters in Riyadh, Jeddha and Yanbu.

We are looking forward to you joining our group of educational professionals. Currently, the annual membership fee is SR 175 (good for one calendar year). To complete your membership, simply fill in the membership form and pay KSAALT Treasurer, Ralph Kraft, at the next KSAALT event. If you've paid the SR 35 Guest fee in previous meetings this year, that amount will be deducted from your membership fee.
